Biography
I attended Cornell University, completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics and participating in the Undergraduate Teaching Program. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in teaching, so I returned to the Bay Area (where I grew up) and attended UC Berkeley, earning a Master’s Degree in secondary math teaching. I then taught for four years at Envision Schools, a charter school organization. After that, I taught at College Prep in Oakland for one year before moving to the east coast. During my five years of teaching in California, I was fortunate to be part of the Knowles Teacher Initiative, a program that supports early-career high school mathematics and science teachers.
In 2010, I moved to Baltimore and after teaching middle school for one year, I joined the Friends School of Baltimore, where I taught high school math for eight years.
I am excited to be back with family and friends in California along with my husband and 4-year-old son. I love to travel and spend time with my family.
