Japanese students bring what they've learned to the broader community. Here's what Becky Swig '15 has to say about their visit to the Atherton Library to teach young children how to do origami for Children's Day:
"Fish have a significant meaning for the holiday, so we thought we should teach the kids how to do origami fish. Once we arrived, the kids were so excited to see us! They couldn’t wait to start...I taught a young four-year-old kid, Brady, who was so full of energy, he couldn’t stop smiling. We decorated some of the fish together, and he wanted me to make some for his parents to show them how he spent the afternoon. The entire time we were there, all the kids were so happy and loved to do the activity. They were always smiling and enjoyed the afternoon. Seeing the kids with that kind of attitude made the afternoon special."
