    The following databases are available for use by the Menlo community. You need a password to access each of these databases if you are not on campus. Password sheets may be picked up at the library circulation desk, or by logging onto the library's Moodle page.


    • Annals of American History

      Over 2,000 primary documents including speeches, historical accounts, memoirs, poems, images and multimedia. (On-campus access only)
    • Britannica Online

      Encyclopedia Britannica, Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus. Also includes World Data Analyst - one page statistical info on individual countries, plus the ability to compare statistics of two countries and to generate ranked statistics on a variety of topics.     • CountryWatch

      Economic, business, political, social and environmental information for 190 countries. Also includes new, maps, photos and statistical information. (For off-campus access follow this link; obtain the password at the Circulation Desk)
    • Gale Databases

      Reference, periodical, newspaper, and primary source information. Research in the areas of biography, general reference, health & wellness, history, literature and opposing viewpoints of social issues. (Off-campus access available: obtain the password at the Circulation Desk)

      Journey Back in Time

      400 years of American newspapers and other primary source documents. (Off-campus access available; UserID and password are needed both on and off campus)
    • JSTOR

      A broad collection of scholarly journals. This is not a current issues index - most articles are at least one year old. You will need a personal login to use this. If you do not already have a login and password, follow this link, enroll in the library (under Miscellaneous), click on JSTOR Setup, and set up your account.
    • Lexis-Nexis

      News and legal coverage from around the world, with customizable search options. (You will be prompted to login to the Menlo School website; off campus access is available.)
    • Lexis-Nexis (Scholastic)

      Newspapers (including current NYT), magazines, wires, transcripts, foreign language news, legal research, legislation and statistics. (On-campus access only)
    • New York Times Historical Collection

      The complete NYT 1851-2003. (Off-campus access available: obtain the password at the Circulation Desk)
    • NoodleBib

      Online bibliographic composer for MLA format. (Off-campus access available: obtain the password at the Circulation Desk)
    • Oxford Art Online

      Biographies and image links for artists from around the world. Includes access to the Oxford Companion to Western Art and links to many online library collections. (Off-campus access available: obtain the password at the Circulation Desk)
    • Scientific American Archives (via EbscoHost)

      Full color PDF coverage of Scientific American beginning with the January 1993 issue. (Off-campus access available: obtain the password at the Circulation Desk)
    • World Book Online

      General purpose enclyclopedia, including reference overviews, primary sources, and multimedia. (Off-campus access available: obtain the password at the Circulation Desk)
