Orchestra Spring Noontime Concert
Wednesday, May 29, 12:15-1:00 pm, Spieker Ballroom. Features Elena Ariza performing Haydn Cello Concerto in D, mvt 1, plus more music by soloists Clarissa Klein, the Menlo Orchestra Brass and the Menlo Orchestra Woodwinds, in music for our Spain Tour in June. Lunch provided to go with musical sustenance!

Final Exams
Thursday, May 30-Wednesday, Jun. 5. Unlike December exams, these are one-a-day exams. In some classes students will have pen and paper tests, and in others there will be project presentations. Therefore, there is no common schedule for all students. Your child should consult the exam schedule posted around campus; for presentations, makeup exams or review sessions, they should consult their teacher. Students may be done before the end of the school day.

Last Day of School/Day on the Green
Wednesday, June 5. Students finish exams, enjoy a BBQ lunch and spend the afternoon signing yearbooks.

Parking Alert Continues This Week!
Wednesday, May 15-Wednesday, May 30. Main parking lot closed as the tent is constructed and outfitted for Menlo’s annual Benefit. Parking on campus VERY limited; all encouraged to carpool. Off-site parking available each day 7:30 am-4:00 pm in the LDS Church parking lot at 1105 Valparaiso. A shuttle service will run between the school and Church. Schedule: 7:40–8:30 am (9:15 am on Day 9); 11:45 am–1:15 pm; 1:45 pm–4:00 pm. Students REQUIRED to park in the LDS church parking lot. Menlo’s main parking lot reopens Wednesday, May 30.

International Student Hosting Opportunities Still Available
Four international students will enroll in the Upper School next year: a sophomore girl from Germany who plays water polo and volunteers at an animal hospital; a junior girl from Spain who plays volleyball and has been class president; a senior girl from Botswana who is a student leader and dancer; and Duncan He, a hardworking student from China who enjoys basketball and is returning to Menlo for his senior year. Announcing SummerArts@Menlo
Menlo is pleased to launch the inaugural season of SummerArts@Menlo, offering classes in a variety of creative arts disciplines, including collage, sculpture and photography, iPad art, rock band, hip hop and clowning. Courses run June 24-28, 9:00 am-2:00 pm. Enrollment open to students from Menlo and the community at large, ages 13-18. Tuition: $375 plus materials. See class descriptions and program details here.

Summer and Fall Book Lists Now Available
Summer Books may be purchased from MBS Direct starting June 1. Fall books can be found on the Menlo School Booklist Generator, and can be purchased from MBS starting July 1.

Donate Guitars to the Creative Arts & Design Center
Do you have extra guitars at home that are never used? Do you want to find a new home for them? If so, Student Council is looking for donations of guitars to place in the CADC for students to practice on and use at school! Interested in donating? AP Exam Score Distribution
Students’ AP scores will be available in July only online and will not be sent to you in the mail. To get AP scores, students must sign up for a free College Board account at apscores.org. Once signed up, students will receive emails explaining how and when to access scores. Those who have taken the SAT or participated in other College Board programs may already have an account. Try signing in at apscores.org before attempting to register. To access scores, students will need to make note of their AP number when taking exams. After APs are completed, the student pack, which includes student AP numbers, will also be placed in student mailboxes.

The Benefit could not happen without the many volunteers working hard to make the event a success. M:13 Live Auction – You Don’t Have to Attend to Bid
Contact your friends and get your bidding group together to assure you are ready to bid on one of the fabulous auction items being offered at this year’s Benefit. Live Auction Items can be previewed in the catalogue you received in the mail or online. Remember: You do not have to attend the evening event to participate in the auction. Benefit Dinner Wine Pairing Auction
The Wine Pairing Auction is OPEN until THIS Wednesday, May 22, 10:00 pm. If you enjoy exceptional and rare wines, consider bidding to enhance your dinner at the Benefit evening event. Carefully curated French and California wines that will be delivered to your Benefit table, are being offered. Wine pairings consist of 4 to 6 bottles. The M:13 Online Auction may be closed but you still have the opportunity to sign up for selected Count-Me-Ins. If you missed out on purchasing a ticket for the all-school Rolling in the Dough Dinner and Party or the Harvey Helms’ fashion tips at Martinis, Moms & Harvey Helms, use this opportunity to sign yourself up! — Save the Date: Frosh Pool Party. Believe it or not, the end of the school year is racing towards us! The Freshman Class Pool Party will be Wednesday, Jun. 5, at the Listwins’ home in Woodside. Frosh will have lunch at school after finals and then head to the party around 2:30 pm. They should bring swimsuits, sunscreen and towels. Able to drop off and/or pick up a group? Summer College Essay Writing Workshop: August 12-15, 9:00 am-12:00 noon. It’s not too late for junior students to sign up for this valuable workshop! Menlo college counselors along with college admission representatives from several colleges will work with students on developing their college essays. Admission is free to current juniors. Grad Night: Friday, June 7. FORMS/PAYMENT DUE THIS WEDNESDAY! All seniors head off to a surprise location to celebrate. Drop off at Menlo loop at 5:45 pm (Grads may NOT drive themselves). Updated Benefit Week Rehearsal Schedule: Please review the schedule here for all models and entertainers during the week of the Benefit. It is important that seniors are present for all rehearsals scheduled for their particular role classification. Role assignments for each senior can be found in the following list: Models, Entertainers and Crew.
Senior photographs, revealed and featured at the M:13 Portal to the Future, available for families to take home after the evening event. Additional Annie Barnett photographs, taken at the Senior Class M:13 kick-off night, available for purchase after May 24. Link provided post-Benefit in this section and on the senior webpage. The cost of these photographs has been offset by a generous donation from Annie Barnett Photography. All proceeds go toward supporting Financial Aid. Questions?
