Parent Education

Raising children who are healthy, confident, competent and resilient may be the most challenging responsibility most of us are ever called upon to face.

Norm Colb, Head of School

Purpose

Menlo's parent education program seeks to:

  • Present parents with the opportunity to learn from and interact with outstanding professionals in adolescent development. These professionals include both local and nationally recognized experts.
  • Provide forums for parents to learn from each other with respect to supporting, nurturing and guiding their students safely through the teen years.

Programs

Menlo Parent Groups

All Upper School parents are invited to join a Menlo Parent Group (MPG) that corresponds to the grade level of their child(ren). MPGs are small groups designed to help parents connect and share information and to give parents a window into their child's academic and social experience at Menlo. Whether you are new to Menlo or a veteran Menlo parent, joining an MPG will help you get connected and stay informed. Sign up for a Menlo Parent Group here.

Parent and Faculty Education Conference

At this annual event, the entire Menlo community comes together to discuss timely, relevant topics regarding raising middle and high school students. The event includes nationally renowned keynote speakers plus workshops on a wide variety of topics. For more information, click here.

Common Ground

Common Ground is a coalition of Bay Area schools that sponsors presentations from nationally recognized experts on parenting. Offered throughout the school year at convenient locations, the talks are open to all Menlo families free of charge. For more information, click here.

Every 15 Minutes

Occurring every four years at Menlo, "Every 15 Minutes" is a unique and emotional educational experience created to educate teens and adults and promote healthy decision making surrounding the dangers associated with driving while impaired and/or texting.
