The Admissions Team is eager to help you learn about Menlo and assist you throughout the application process. Although we wish we could invite you to our beautiful campus, we are currently unable to do so because of COVID-19 restrictions. We look forward to the day we can show you around in person so you can see our community in action.
Our events for the 2020-2021 application season have been converted to a variety of virtual formats. Please explore the offerings below and visit the Ravenna events section to learn more. We are eager to share our enthusiasm for the Menlo community and to partner with you as you explore schools.
Virtual Parent Information Sessions
Hosted by a member of the Admissions team in small groups, parent information sessions take place from September 2020 through January 2021. These forty-five-minute virtual meetings are a great opportunity for prospective parents to learn more about the admission process, Menlo’s academic and extracurricular programs, as well as the Menlo parent experience. Virtual Preview Day Programs
Menlo hosts four Preview Day programs each fall, two for middle school families, and two for upper school families. In a virtual format for the 2020-2021 season, these live events allow applicants to hear from students, teachers, and administrators while learning more about our challenging, engaging, and joyful community. Preview Days are a great way to receive a comprehensive overview of our school and values. Our Middle School Preview Days are October 10, 2020, and November 14, 2020. Virtual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Events
In conjunction with our Office of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, we are proud to offer affinity spaces for applicant families to learn more about Menlo from current students, parents, and school leaders. We encourage you to attend our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Town Hall on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Registration for this and other events is available through the Ravenna events section.
Virtual Peeks into the Student Experience
While we are unable to host student applicants for an in-person campus visit in 2020, a virtual peek helps you get a better sense of what it feels like to be a student at Menlo. This hands-on, self-directed virtual experience gives prospective students a glimpse into the academic program, student life, and extracurricular opportunities. Students have the opportunity to observe recorded classes in their favorite subjects. To register for a Virtual Peek, please visit Ravenna.
Virtual Student and Family Interviews
An interview is a required part of our application. During the 2020-2021 application season, we will be conducting all interviews using Zoom and scheduled through Ravenna. The interview will have two segments, the first being a conversation between just the student and a member of Menlo’s Admissions Team. For the second segment of the interview, our Admissions Team member will invite the student’s parent(s) to join the conversation. The interview is a casual get-to-know-you conversation and a time for applicants and their families to ask questions about Menlo. We estimate that the interview will run 30 - 40 minutes.
