About the Team

The Menlo girls’ golf team consistently places in the top 10 at the Central Coast Section Championships, including fourth place in 2015 and fifth place in 2014. The Knights are coming off a 11-1 West Bay Athletic League-play mark, winning the title, as well as its third consecutive league tournament. Menlo players have qualified for the CCS competition the last nine seasons.

About the Coach

Jim Miller (second season)

Jim Miller comes to Menlo with a wealth of experience teaching players of varying levels. He is a PGA Class A pro who taught golf courses at Stanford, and joined as an assistant golf pro in 2011. Miller, along with then-Athletic Director Jez McIntosh started Castilleja golf program in 1999. He then led the team to league titles and a second-place finish at the CCS Championship in 2010 for the school’s first bid to CIF-NorCals. Miller coached Castilleja for 12 years, and coached the Pinewood boys for six years. Miller’s focus will be to help his team members lower their scores by using the proper club and technique around the greens.  In addition, a high priority will be placed on improving the girls course management and strategy skills. Miller, who received his bachelor’s degree in political science from UCLA, competed successfully in several high-level tournaments.
