On January 23, more than 500 travelers embarked on an eye-opening journey exploring Menlo’s diverse cultures. Students, parents, faculty, and staff came together to showcase an array of cultural offerings in more than thirty booths and on the main stage. While lining up for henna, guests enjoyed a cup of posole, folded origami, sipped bubble tea, and soaked up the beats of West African drumming, mariachi, and jazz. Opportunities for immersion in various cultural celebrations were endless. Each stamp in the scavenger-hunt passport booklet provided attendees with more insight into the richness of each culture represented at the Expo and accentuated the pride with which the families shared the wonders of their respective backgrounds. Just before heading back into the world outside the Expo, travelers collected backpacks at baggage claim bearing the motto of the Menlo Global Expo: celebrate, explore, and inspire.
