Construction Updates September 2016

Construction officially began this summer and is continuing at a solid pace here at Menlo.

This week there may be some noise disruptions around campus as saw cutting and jack hammering will continue as the general contractor works on lowering the stacks’ floor. There will also be excavating behind Stent for the expansion of the first-floor dining and outdoor seating area. Crews will also be sealing the deck in front of Stent and the entrance, and there will be further tie-ins for the fire lines for the new Technology center.

This work includes exterior window removal and stucco removal. The back of house concrete slab demo will be ongoing. The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-in work will begin today for the Head of School’s office.

The fireproofing work in Stent Family Hall is nearing completion. Demo of the 6” concrete slab in the basement at the back of Stent has started, and additional concrete columns and footings will begin demo today. These activities, which involve concrete chipping, may cause some noise disruptions through Friday, Sept. 16. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work for the Head of School’s office also begins in Stent today.
