Boys’ soccer plays to 3-3 draw with TKA

Menlo takes early lead

Menlo boys’ soccer took an early lead then finished with a 3-3 tie against The King’s Academy in a West Bay Athletic League match at home Friday.


Menlo (1-0-1) struck first when Alistair Shaw scored on an assist from fellow junior Will Crandall three minutes into the game. The King’s Academy (0-1-1) headed a ball into their own net, and Menlo led 2-0. As he did all game, senior Nolan Peterson made several outstanding saves. 


With 10 minutes left in the half, Luis Flores scored TKA’s first goal then four minutes later, added another off a rebound to knot the score at 2 going into halftime.


Menlo went ahead in the 50th minute when sophomore Jonny Ebrahimian scored on a cross from sophomore Ben Lasky. 


TKA was awarded a penalty kick with less than five minutes left in the game and converted to knot the score.
