Pegley honored as CCS Scholar-Athlete

Knights senior one of 16 recipients for honor

Based on his outstanding work in the classroom, his athletic achievements and his model behavior as a student-athlete,  Menlo School senior Hayden Pegley has won a Central Coast Section Scholar-Athlete Scholarships.

Pegley, a football and basketball player who earned a spot as a walk-on for Vanderbilt football, was one of 18 semifinalists for Player of the Year honors.

Exceptional student-athletes were nominated by their schools and put forth to their leagues for selection. One male student and one female student were selected from each of the nine leagues that make up the CCS.

The 16s semifinalist will each receive a $500 scholarship at the CCS Scholar-Athlete Awards Breakfast later this month. Emma Cushing of York School and Zachary Miller of Pacific Grove were named Female and Male Athletes of the Year. CCS release
