Middle School Service Week: Knights in the Community 2.0

For the second year, middle schoolers engaged in service projects with our community partners. View a slideshow and video about the week.
Middle School Service Week - 8th Grade

From mentoring younger buddies to planting gardens at local elementary schools to working the with Marine Mammal Center, our Middle School students spent the week contributing to their community and making a difference.

Sixth graders worked with Kindergarten students to build a healthy salad in school gardens at Selby Lane, Taft, and Belle Haven elementary schools. Seventh graders guided their first grade buddies on field trips to the California Academy of Sciences and the Exploratorium, and Eighth graders did a beach cleanup and served lunch to our partners at LifeMoves.

On the final day of the week, elementary buddies visited Menlo to enjoy a carnival organized by our middle schoolers, featuring a special performance by our students on the steel pans.

Here’s a slideshow, assembled by Peter H. ’22, of the week’s activities.

Here’s a video feature some highlights of the carnival with buddy students.
