Catching Up With Menlo Alumni: September

Jeff Weinstock ’89, Tito Bianchi ’89, Kevin Miller ’89, and Peter Maletis ’89 (pictured above, left to right) came together at Echo Lake in July 2018.

Ben Mullin ’88 won an Emmy over the weekend for his work as camera operator on the television documentary show Life Below Zero.

Eva Garland ’93 is the founder and CEO of Eva Garland Consulting, a North Carolina-based firm that assists small businesses secure grants and other funding, and which was recently placed at No. 704 on the Inc. 5000 list of private companies.

Arif Virani ’04, currently a history teacher at Menlo’s Middle School, married Caroline Seamans on April 7, 2018 (pictured above). The wedding party featured multiple Menlo alumni, including Chuck Huggins ’04, Mark Leow ’04, Jesse Sweet ’04, Kevin Teng ’05, and Thomas Whitfield ’04.

On August 11, 2018, Christina Ryan ’04 and James Trevor ’95 were married.

Donnell Tachis ’06, Tracy Montgomery ’06, Angie McPhaul ’06, Andrew Newman-Dilfer ’06, and Erica Swanson ’06 (pictured above) recently met up for dinner, drinks, and desserts in Denver. Donnell, Angie, and Andrew live there full time, while Erica and Tracy are summer visitors. As would be expected, they told lots of middle school and high school stories to their non-Menlo dinner companions, Donnell’s wonderful wife, Kayla, and Erica’s wonderful boyfriend, Matt.

Morgan Johnson ’08 and Derek Su ’07 (pictured above) married this summer. Multiple Menlo alumni were in the wedding party, including Kameran Wong (Johnson) ’04, Eric Tang ’06, Derrick Chen ’07, Kevin Chou ’07, Jennifer Simonovich ’08, and Meredie Johnson ’11. The wedding was officiated by Emily Abraham ’08.

Matthew Corley ’08 is proud to report that he’s about to begin pursuing an MBA at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
