Aubrey Fennell

Head Athletic Trainer 

Fennell was promoted to oversee Menlo sports medicine after serving as assistant trainer last season. Fennell, née Yanda, earned her master’s in athletic training from A.T. Still University in Arizona after graduating with a bachelor’s in both exercise science and athletic training from Northern Iowa University. Before coming to Menlo, Fennell served as Athletic Trainer at Capuchino High and since 2013 is a trainer at the University of California San Francisco Orthopaedic Institute as a physician extender in sports medicine clinic, assisting with an annual cardiac pre-participation physical event, and providing medical coverage for events, such as The San Francisco Marathon. She also co-authored an abstract “Fatigue-specific health-related quality of life: sex differences in healthy adolescent athletes “ in the Journal of Athletic Training.  


Tony Holland

Varsity Volleyball Coach

Holland, a longtime Knights assistant coach and club head coach, is set to lead the two-time league champion and three-time CCS Open contender. Holland has worked as an assistant varsity volleyball coach for the past six seasons, the last three under Marco Paglialunga, who returned to Italy to lead the U24 national team in the world games. During those six seasons, Menlo volleyball made program history. After becoming NorCal champions in 2013 then again three years later, the Knights won their first state championship in 2016. In 2013, the Knights won the CCS Div. IV Championship then won a NorCal title for the first time since 2002. Menlo volleyball has won five league titles in the past six seasons. Holland not only is a seasoned high school coach, he also has been a club coach for nearly a decade. He has directed teams with players from 12 years old through elite 18s. Holland holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Loyola Marymount.


Blake Kim

Lacrosse Program Director | Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse Coach

Kim had a strong debut last season, leading the boys to the West Coast Athletic League semifinals, helping guide the entire lacrosse program, and teaching the middle school P.E. Kim, who along with twin brother and assistant coach Cort Kim, were recently named to the Northern California Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Blake Kimholds more than 30 years of lacrosse experience as a player and coach. He served as head coach for two seasons at Sacred Heart Prep before leaving to focus on his full-time job at a lacrosse manufacturing company in Santa Cruz County. In 2011, he was named the U.S. Lacrosse High School Coach of the Year for Northern California. He was a member of the Korean National Lacrosse team at the World Championships in 2002. Kim was inducted into the University at Albany (New York) Athletic Hall of Fame where he was a team captain as a senior. Kim holds his bachelor’s in biological sciences from University of Albany and his master’s in Medical and Science Illustration from Johns Hopkins.

Laura Reynolds

Girls’ Water Polo Coach | Boys’ and Girls’ Swimming Coach

Reynolds, who coached the swim teams last season, is a longtime coach and leader of aquatics on the Peninsula. A USA Swimming Level II coach, she directed Woodside High School’s swim teams in 2010-2011 and 2013-2015. During that time, she was also the Wildcats’ varsity girls’ water polo coach, and from 2008-2017 was an assistant coach for the boys’ water polo team. The girls won three league titles and advanced to CCS three seasons under her tenure. She was selected as CCS Honor Coach of the Year for water polo in 2013.  A member of the Brown University Hall of Fame, Reynolds was a four-year All-Ivy League and All-Eastern swimmer, and competed on the 200 medley and 400 free relay teams at the NCAA Div. I Championships. She raced in the 1980 Olympic Trials in the 100 butterfly.

Stephanie Swan

Assistant Athletic Trainer

Swan comes to Menlo from Seattle Children’s Hospital where she served as the head athletic trainer for Roosevelt High.  At Roosevelt, she provided the medical coverage for 20 teams and 600 student-athletes. She graduated from Chapman University with a bachelors degree in kinesiology and a masters in Athletic Training.

Samantha Leeper

Assistant performance coach

Leeper enters her second year as a performance coach for Menlo, and also works with student-athletes at Rise Above LLC in Belmont. After serving as an Athletic Training Technician at Colorado State, she was a strength and conditioning intern for the University of Alabama. She graduated with a bachelors in health and exercise science at Colorado State.


Kyler Ishisaki 

Assistant performance coach

Ishisaki worked at One Health Management on the Facebookcampus for several years and  before that, was a performance coach for four years at ProSport STACK Sports Performance & Therapy in Laguna Hills. He was a volunteer coach at Santa Clara University. Ishisaki graduated from Cal State Fullerton with  bachelors in kinesiology and exercise science.  


Isaac Duran

Assistant performance coach 

Duran is a health and wellness coach at ValleyCare Medical Center on the East Bay, as well as a sports performance coach at Santa Clara University and The University of South Carolina. He has his bachelors degree in exercise physiology from Chico State and his masters in sports performance and conditioning from Southern Utah University.
