Volleyball loses WBAL opener

Knights fall to SHP in four

In a West Bay Athletic League opener, Menlo School volleyball lost 25-21, 25-22, 24-26, 25-20 to Sacred Heart Prep down the street Thursday.
The Knights (9-4) next play a non-league match at Gunn on Monday before facing Notre Dame-Belmont in league action on the road. Against the Gators (10-5), sophomore setter Hanna Hoffman put up six blocks, and added 23 assists, nine kills and 12 digs. Junior Roxy Karrer had a team-high 15 kills while freshman Havannah Hoeft had 19 assists and 11 digs for Menlo.
Sophomores Simone Adam had 11 digs and Sharon Nejad added three blocks while senior Emma Holland picked up eight kills.
Senior Elena Radeff led SHP with 27 kills.
