The Menlo boys’ water polo team finished the S&R Sport Water Polo Tournament with 15-14 victory over Clovis West on Saturday at Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine.
The Knights (11-4 overall) finished 11th, falling to Los Osos before taking the final-round game against Clovis West on Saturday night. Senior Noah Housenbold and sophomore Greg Hilderbrand each earned six ejections in Saturday’s games for the Knights. Hilderbrand led the team in assists on Day 2 with four, while senior Chris Ponterio and junior goalie Zayd Mahmoud added three.
Menlo fell to Long Beach Wilson in the pener. Senior Connor Enright led the team in assists (3) and steals (4). The Knights bounced back and topped familiar foe Coronado. Enright led the team with 3 assists and Hilderbrand led in steals with three.
