CCS: Girls’ water polo falls in Open quarterfinals

Knights lose to Leland

The Menlo girls’ water polo team dropped an 18-11 decision to Leland in a CCS Open quarterfinal at Lynbrook High on Saturday.
The Knights (15-10) earned their first trip to the Open Division since its start in 2017. After winning CCS last season, the Knights earned a berth to NorCals which eventually were cancelled because of the Camp Fire.
The Knights’ sophomore Rusha Bhat recorded five goals on seven attempts and had an assist; Seniors Sydney Bianchi posted a hat trick and had three assists while Sophie Golub had a pair of goals and three assists. Menlo junior Hope Isaacson recorded 11 saves for the Knights.
