CIF-NorCals: Boys’ water polo wraps up season in quarterfinals

11.19.2019 – The Menlo boys’ water polo team closed a season of firsts in the quarterfinals of the CIF-NorCals, falling 15-7 to host Miramonte, on Tuesday.

The Knights wrapped up a season in which they went 20-10, advanced to the CCS Open Division semifinals and made their debut in the West Catholic Athletic League, finishing second place overall.

On Tuesday, the three senior co-captains for Menlo School led the nights in what turned out to be the final game of their respective careers: Jack King paced the Knights defensively with four steals, Connor Enright distributed a team-high three assists, and center Noah Housenbold led all scorers with four goals.

“It was great to see these leaders in our program finish so strong,”  Menlo Coach Jack Bowen said. “They’ve been leaders both in the water and culturally for us and they showed why tonight. Even more so, though, I’m just proud of our team getting into the top division of the Nor Cal Championships—and for the third consecutive year.  That, regardless of school size or anything else, we’ve been in the top 8 for the past three years is a testament to the consistency of this group’s work ethic. And, quite frankly, they’re just a lot of fun to be around.”
