CCS: Knights well represented in singles, doubles

Menlo junior Addie Alstrom advanced to the CCS singles semifinals Wednesday

The Menlo tennis team was well represented in the CCS Individual Championships with a singles semifinalist and two duos playing for a doubles title Tuesday and Wednesday at Bay Club-Courtside.  
In Wednesday’s semifinals, junior Addie Ahlstrom came roaring back in the second set, but eventually fell to St. Ignatius Claire Galerkin 7-5, 0-6, 6-4. Ahlstrom defeated Palo Alto’s Kamila Wong in the first round 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 then beat Menlo-Atherton’s Ava Martin in the quarterfinals 6-3, 6-2.  
In doubles, the Menlo sophomore team of Tricia Zhang and Bynn Brady advanced to the quarterfinals after a straight-sets win over Westmont’s Lindsey Lee and Andrea Charfauros. The Knights then lost in the quarterfinals to Salinas’ Anna & Makayla Chassion, who defeated Menlo’s freshmen team of Elsie Ragatz and Natalie Westermann.

The Knights next play in the CIF-NorCals on Friday, Nov. 22  against University Prep of Redding at Broadstone Sports Club
