Girls’ soccer defeats TKA, Carmel

Menlo senior Carly Retterer recorded a hat trick and had an assist in Menlo's 5-0 win over The King's Academy

The Menlo girls’ soccer team posted a 3-0 non-league victory over host Carmel on Saturday.

Junior Siena Gavin, and seniors Carly Retterer, Sidney Peña all scored for Knights. Bella Guel picked up a pair of assists.

Menlo 2, Woodside Priory 0

1.16.2020 – In West Bay Athletic League play, the Menlo girls’ soccer team defeated Woodside Priory 2-0, scoring goals in each half Thursday at home.
In a match moved to Menlo due to field conditions, the Knights kept possession about 80 percent of the time. Sophomore Ashley Grady scored in the 21st minute then junior Gabby Kogler would score on a Sidney Peña assist, with just over 2 minutes left in the match.
Menlo held a 13-1 shot advantage and freshman Samantha Sellers recorded the shutout.

1.14.2020 – The Menlo girls’ soccer team rolled to a 5-0 win over The King’s Academy in a West Bay Athletic League opener on the road Tuesday.
Menlo senior Carly Retterer collected a hat trick and an assist. Menlo juniors Siena Gavin and Julia Deffner also scored for Menlo (2-3-4 overall). Tabitha Corcoran, Gabby Kogler, Sidney Peña also contributed assists. Freshman Samantha Sellers stopped three shots for the shutout. Menlo outshot TKA 23-3.
