Boys’ soccer picks up two shutout wins

Menlo senior Aaron Morgan posted three goals in a win over Eastside

1.24.2020 – The Menlo boys’ soccer team picked up a 3-0 victory over Harker on Friday in a West Bay Athletic League matchup, moving the teams into a tie for second with 12 points apiece.
The Knights improve to 4-0-1 in league, a game back of Sacred Heart Prep (4-0-1). The Eagles (4-1-0) tied SHP earlier in the week.
Menlo scored all its goals in the second half. Juniors Tor Micaelian and Aaron Cheng delivered penalty kicks for Menlo. Junior Christian Corcoran finished with a beautiful kick from senior Jackson Aldrich.
Junior Peter Gray stopped eight shots while Xander Stabile, Alex Morgan and Luke Appel controlled the back line.
“The boys knew how important this game was in the race for the league title, played really hard as a team and got the result they deserved,” Menlo coach Marc Kerrest said. “Right back at it Monday with three huge league games next week.”

1.22.2020 – The Menlo boys’ soccer team rolled to a 6-0 West Bay Athletic League victory over visiting Eastside on Wednesday.
The Knights (8-1-3 overall and 3-1-0) got a hat trick from senior Aaron Morgan, who scored several minutes into the game on a cross from senior Jackson Aldrich. Juniors Aaron Cheng, Tor Micaelian and Luke Appel all added goals for the Knights. Junior Steph Nivaggioli assisted on Morgan’s third goal.
