Art Nathan '67 Art Nathan ’67 (pictured above) shared that he recently moved to Yachats, OR, and invites anyone coming by the central Oregon coast to look him up.

Tom Whitmore ’70 told us that after running a science fiction bookstore in Berkeley for many years, he’s now a massage therapist — but may retire because of the pandemic. He reminds those who may have fallen out of touch he still has the same phone number he got when he chaired the World Science Fiction Convention in 2002.

Carney Anne Nasser ’96 is a lawyer, law professor, and director of Michigan State University’s Animal Welfare Center. She lives in New Orleans with her fiancé, three sons, and one grumpy shih tzu. In recent months, she’s been interviewed by multiple major news organizations thanks to her actions in 2015, when she built the wildlife trafficking case against “Tiger King” Joe Exotic and pitched it to federal prosecutors, ultimately resulting in his conviction for numerous federal crimes and a 22-year prison sentence. You can hear Carney Anne’s podcast, Tiger Talk, which features interviews and discussions with other experts on tiger captivity in the United States.

Nick Casey ’01 appeared on The Daily podcast by the New York Times on May 5 to talk about how coronavirus has amplified differences between students at colleges.

When shelter-in-place started, sisters Lida Van der Meer ’15 and Mia Van der Meer ’17 were eager to help small businesses stay afloat, and so created a San Francisco chef and restaurant e-cookbook, Stay In Cook Out. The cookbook, which was featured in a San Francisco Chronicle story, includes recipes from 24 San Francisco restaurants such as Michael Mina, Tartine Bakery, Mister Jiu’s, Chez Panisse, and many more. Every week 100% of the proceeds will go directly back to the participating restaurants.

Anna Guiragossian ’19, Sara Hewitt ’19, and Upper School Director John Schafer were all interviewed on camera by the Menlo Coat of Arms student newspaper about their experiences living in Europe while the coronavirus began spreading there.
