CIF, CCS announce delayed start of 2020-21 athletics

School sports divided into winter and spring seasons, starting mid-December

7.20.2020 – The California Interscholastic Federation, in conjunction with the 10 sections under its umbrella, including the Central Coast Section, announced that education-based athletics for the 2020-21 school year will begin with a modified schedule of a winter and spring season.

Following the CIF announcement of changes to regional and state playoffs, the Central Coast Section released its calendar today with the first season starting practice mid-December.

With the health and safety of the students and educators at the forefront, Menlo School is working with CIF, CCS, and the West Bay Athletic, Peninsula Athletic and West Catholic Athletic leagues to determine the next steps while continuing to abide by the health orders issued by the state and San Mateo County.

Menlo coaches and the Knights strength & performance team have been working year round to provide conditioning programs and practices virtually and in-person under proper safety protocol, and will continue to do so under school and county health guidance.
