Alumni athletes: Week of March 1

Water polo, lacrosse volleyball highlights

3.8.2021 – Not all of the college teams are practicing, but some are - with truncated schedules designed to minimize travel. Complete list of our alumni athletes. Here are a few recent highlights from our alumni:

Water polo

On Sunday, senior utility Scott Little (Menlo ’17) picked up a pair of goals in No. 9 Bucknell’s 11-3 victory over LaSalle as the Bison defend its MAWPC Championship. Bucknell opens the NCAA Tournament against USC on March 18 in Los Angeles

In her collegiate debut, freshman attacker Sydney Bianchi (Menlo ’20) collected a hat trick in Villanova’s 21-4 victory over Mount Saint Mary’s. She also had a pair of steals and an assist in 13-12 win over Saint Francis and a 16-12 loss to No. 25-ranked Salem. Villanova next plays Saturday when it hosts Gannon.



Sophomore Conor McCusker (Menlo ’19) picked up a groundball and won a face-off in Bucknell’s 15-9 win over Cleveland State.


Jessica Houghton (Menlo ’17) , a junior libero, picked up 20 digs in a five-set loss to Oregon State and added six more against OSU in the second match, a three-set loss. Cal travels to play Arizona State next weekend.

Selina Xu (Menlo ’19) recorded 72 assists, 18 digs and 3 aces in two four-game losses to No. 9 Utah.

Defensive specialist Sianna Houghton (Menlo ’19) had four digs as Washington (11-3) split a series with Oregon.
