Cross country takes second at Woodbridge

The Menlo boys’ cross country team took second place overall and Grace Tang finished as a medalist at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic at SilverLakes Sports Complex in Norco on Friday night.

Cathedral won the varsity boys’ race with an 89, followed by Menlo in second with 103. Knights junior Justin Pretre crossed the finish line of the 3-mile course in 15:18.6 for second place. His freshman brother Landon Pretre placed 11th in 15:48,6 and senior Nik Khuntia was 17th in 16:00.3 in the field of 173 runners.
Aiden Deffner, a junior, was 33rd in 16:26.3.Sophomore Alex Boesch ran in 16:44.9; and freshmen William Hauser and Jared Saal finished in 17:16.3
Tang, a senior, placed 22nd among 149 runners in 19:54.8.
