MacDonald Invitational: Girls’ water polo takes 4th

Knights defeat Woodside, Gunn

The Menlo girls’ water polo team took fourth in the 26th Annual Amanda MacDonald Invitational this weekend.
The Knights (4-5) picked up two victories against Woodside and Gunn before falling to eventual champion Miramonte and then, Los Gatos in the third-place game.
Menlo junior Erica Fenyo finished with 11 goals, two assists and three steals for the tournament. Freshman Vivian Golub had six goals while Scarlett Gamble, a sophomore, distributed seven assists, and Alina Hernandez, a senior, added five assists. Sophomore Kenya Cassidy posted nine steals and junior goalie Nyla Sharma finished with 23 saves. Junior Malia Chavinson had three goals, and two assists.
The Knights resume WCAL play and host Valley Christian on Wednesday.
