Cross country second at Ram Invitational

Pretre brothers lead boys’ team; Tang top finisher for girls
Justin Pretre was third finisher overall at the Westmoor Ram Invitational, helping the Knights to a second-place team finish Saturday.

The Menlo boys’ cross country team took second overall at the Ram Invitational at Westmoor High on Saturday.
Junior Justin Pretre was the Knights’ top finisher, coming in third overall among 115 runners. he covered the 2.6-mile course with a time of 13:38. His brother Landon Pretre, a freshman, was eighth with a time of 14:10. Junior Aiden Deffner and senior Nik Khuntia were 17th (14:49) and 18th (14:50), respectively. Sophomore Alex Boesch and Will Hauser placed 37th and 49th.
Menlo finished with 83, eight points behind Woodside, and ahead of Scotts Valley which had 119.

In the girls’ race, senior Grace Tang was the Knights’ top finisher, covering the course in 18:36 for 41st among 93 runners. Freshman Eden Chuang ran in  18:49 and junior Jane Hratko in 22:32 for the Knights.
