Volleyball sweeps SHP, Notre Dame-Belmont

The Menlo School volleyball team claimed a spot alone at the top of the WBAL after handing visiting Sacred Heart Prep its first league loss, 25-14, 26-24, 25-19 on Thursday.
The Knights (20-5, 5-0 West Bay Athletic League) jumped out to a quick start and never looked back, rolling in the first set. The Knights came from behind early in Set 2 to hold off the Gators .
Menlo senior Hanna Hoffman posted a team-high 14 kills, with a hitting percentage of .407 and had 16 assists and 12 digs. Setter Zoe Gregory distributed 26 assists and outside hitter Sharon Nejad, also a senior, recorded 13 kills on .385 hitting. Senior Hallie MacDonald picked up 14 digs.
The Knights next play in a homecoming match Friday night against Burlingame.

Menlo 3, Notre Dame-Belmont 0

The Menlo volleyball team improved to 4-0 in West Bay Athletic League play with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-15 victory over host Notre Dame-Belmont on Tuesday.
The Knights move to 19-5 overall, and play host to Sacred Heart Prep on Thursday.
Against Notre Dame (12-6), senior Hanna Hoffman had nine kills, 15 assists and nine digs. Senior Zoe Gregory had 20 assists. Sophomore Cleo Hardin added eight kills and seniors Sharon Nejad and Simone Adam combined for 13 more. Senior Alli McKenney picked up 15 digs and junior Brooke Dombkowski had nine digs and four of the team’s 10 aces.
