The Knights fell to Campolindo 15-12 in the consolation final at Gunn on Saturday after a comeback win against Oaks Christian.

In the consolation semi, Menlo went down 5-0 in the first five minutes of the game before embarking on a 10-3 run to win by two. Led by sophomore goalie Cormac Mulloy who went in for the second half of the game and made 13 saves while allowing just 3 goals, Menlo changed its defensive approach which, in turn, fed the counter attack.

“This is the kind of game that just demonstrates the tremendous character of this team,” Menlo coach Jack Bowen said. “These guys didn’t once give up or let down. I saw some great leadership from our senior co-captains Greg Hilderbrand, Jack Murad, and Dakin Muhlner, and the team really rallied together.”
