Volleyball clinches share of WBAL title

Knights improve to 9-0
The Knights used a balanced attack to defeat Notre Dame-Belmont. Simone Adam had nine kills in the three-set win

The Menlo School volleyball team clinched at least a share of the West Bay Athletic League crown with a three-set win over visiting Notre Dame-Belmont on Senior Night.
The Knights ( 25-5 overall) improve to 9-0, alone atop the league, with one game remaining - against Sacred Heart Prep (8-1). The two meet Tuesday at SHP.
Against Notre Dame-Belmont (5-3), Menlo used a balanced attack: senior outside hitter Simone Adam had a team-high 11 kills; sophomore Cleo Hardin posted nine kills and senior outside Sharon Nejad added eight on 53.3 percent hitting. Menlo seniors Hanna Hoffman tallied 21 assists and seven kills while Zoe Gregory added 20 assists, six digs and four aces.

 

Menlo 3, Harker 1

The Knights  (8-0) dropped its first set in West Bay Athletic League play, but bounced back with a vengeance to win 25-14, 25-18, 22-25, 25-9 on the road Tuesday. 

Senior Simone Adam recorded a team-high 23 kills and 12 digs. Junior Brooke Dombkowski posted 15 kills, on .500 hitting, and  delivered a season-best nine aces.  Seniors Zoe Gregory had 29 assists and Hanna Hoffman added 18 assists and eight kills.
