CCS Open: Volleyball advances to semis

Knights beat Sacred Heart Prep
Sharon Nejad delivered 11 kills in  a CCS Open win over SHP

In their second meeting in four days and third this season, the Menlo School volleyball team defeated neighbor Sacred Heart Prep, this time in the CCS Open quarterfinals at home Saturday.
The third-seeded Knights (27-5) defeated sixth-seed Sacred Heart Prep 25-22, 25-18, 25-12 at home Saturday. They advance to Wednesday’s 7:00 pm semifinals at No. 2 seed St. Ignatius, which won in five over Los Gatos.

Against Sacred Heart, which was missing one of their key players, seniors Sharon Nejad powered down 11 kills and Simone Adam posted nine kills, seven digs, and three aces. Senior setters Zoe Gregory posted 23 assists, seven digs while Hanna Hoffman had seven assists, eight kills and eight digs. Hallie Mac Donald picked up 15 digs. Jazi Chen, a senior, and Lily Kautai, a freshman, were 4 of 6 hitting for the Knights.
