CIF-NorCals: Knights debut Open Division with sweep

Menlo sophomore Cleo Hardin delivers a hit against Clovis West

11.10.2021 – Making its CIF-NorCals Open Division debut. the Menlo School volleyball team delivered a 25-19, 25-22, 25-18 victory over visiting Clovis West at home Wednesday.
The No. 2 seeded Knights (29-6) will host No. 8 St. Francis (19-11) in Saturday’s semifinals at 6 pm. The Lancers toppled top seed Marin Catholiic in a five-set victory on the road.
“I’m super proud of how we competed tonight, and that we earned ourselves another home match,” Menlo senior Hanna Hoffman said. “We played with heart which translated to our scrapiness, allowing us to keep a lot of balls alive.”
Three Knights recorded double-digit kills: Senior Sharon Nejad posted a team-high 13 kills on 61.9 percent hitting; Hoffman distributed 24 assists while senior Zoe Gregory added 21. Senior Simone Adam had 11 kills and a team-high 10 digs, and sophomore Cleo Hardin recorded 11 kills.
