Girls’ soccer wins in shutout; falls to St. Francis

Knights beat Cupertino, fall to St. Francis
Sophomore Taylor Tam had two assists in Menlo's victory over Cupertino on Thursday.

12.11.2021 – The Menlo girls’ soccer team resumed play in the Firebird Classic on Saturday, and fell to St. Francis 1-0. 

“It was another excellent preseason game with tremendously disciplined and organized performance,” Menlo coach Ross Ireland said. 

The Knights restricted St. Francis to five shots got outstanding performances from Tabitha Corcoran, Madison Liu and Sophia Artandi.

Menlo 3, Cupertino 0 

12.9.2021 – The Menlo girls’ soccer team rolled to a 3-0 victory over visiting Cupertino on Thursday.

The Knights (3-2-0) got on the scoreboard on a goal by senior Carolina Espinosa. Amelie Giomi scored ion an assist from Taylor Tam, who also fed Hannah Gorospe for the Knights’ third goal.

Helen Barkley picked up the shutout while Madison Liu also pitched in with a strong outing, as Menlo outshot Cupertino 18-2.

Menlo next plays St. Francis as the Firebird Classic resumes Saturday.
