Alec Jabal looks for the layup over Harker;'s Bowen Xia on Tuesday

In its first game back since playing in San Diego over the holiday break, the Menlo School buoys’ basketball stormed into WBAL play Tuesday with a 90-44 victory over host Harker.
Menlo (7-3) jumped out from the opening tip, knocking down five three-pointers. Senior Daniel Solomon had two of those and scored eight of his 23 points for Menlo, which suited up just eight players. Still, the Knights had the game covered as Lucas Vogel, a junior, and Jaymin Parasnis, a senior, each had five and Menlo staked a 23-10 first-quarter lead.
Vogel finished with a game-high 31 points, including seven three-pointers, and junior Will Eggemeier added 14 on four baskets from three-point range. Solomon converted four three-pointers as well, and the Knights finished with 17 threes. By the half, Menlo extended its lead 46-26.
K.J. Williams had nine for Harker.
Menlo next plays at Crystal Springs on Tuesday, Jan. 18 as the Menlo-Eastside game was postponed.
