Girls’ soccer posts two WBAL shutout wins

Menlo junior Samantha Sellers stopped eight shots to preserve a shutout over Notre Dame-Belmont

The Menlo girls’ soccer team got a goal from senior Carolina Espinosa in the 64th minute, and that’s all the Knights would need in a 1-0 win over Notre Dame-San Jose on Friday night.
Espinosa, a Middlebury commit, scored on a feed from Francesca Prescott. Menlo junior goalie Helen Barkley picked up the victory.
The Knights (8-4-0, 3-1 league) play Woodside Priory at home Tuesday.

1.18.2022 – Menlo girls’ soccer scored in each half and shut down Notre Dame-Belmont in a 2-0 victory at home Tuesday.
The Knights improve to 2-1 in West Bay Athletic League play and 6-4 overall.
Menlo’s Samantha Sellers would stop eight shots to preserve the clean sheet.
Eight minutes in, Menlo’s Taylor Tam scored on an assist from Sasha Bernthal and the Knights would take a 1-0 lead into halftime. In the 64th minute, senior Carolina Espinosa delivered a penalty kick for the final score.
