Girls’ basketball tops Harker, ND-Belmont

1.28.2022 – Avenging an earlier loss, the Menlo girls’ basketball team won a fifth consecutive game in a 49-36 victory over host Notre Dame- Belmont in WBAL play Friday night.
The Knights improve to 4-2 in league play, 10-6 overall. Menlo led from the start taking a 12-3 advantage after the first quarter.
Freshman Karen Xin posted 13 points to pace Menlo, and senior Shannon Li added 11 points as seven Knights scored.
Menlo next plays Crystal Springs on Tuesday.

Menlo 58, Harker 49

The Menlo girls’ basketball team pulled ahead in the third quarter and held on for a 58-49 victory over visiting Harker in a WBAL non-divisional game Tuesday.
The Knights (8-6 overall, 2-2 WBAL) got a huge performance from Pomona College-bound Sharon Nejad, who had 31 points and 16 rebounds. Freshman Karen Xin added 13 points.
Harker led 32-28 at the half before the Knights defense held the Eagles to a seven-point third.
The Knights next play at Notre Dame-Belmont on Friday.
