Girls’ soccer ties SHP in final minutes

Menlo senior Carolina Espinosa posted four goals for the Knights against Castilleja on 2.1.2022

2.3.2022 – The Menlo girls’ soccer team scored in the final two minutes to wage a 1-1 tie at Sacred Heart Prep in WBAL play Thursday.
The Knights and Gators both hold 5-1-1 league records; Notre Dame-Belmont, which plays Castilleja on Friday is 5-1-0.
On Thursday, SHP struck first when Megan Tinsley scored in the 15th minute. In a dramatic finish, Menlo senior Carolina Espinosa headed in a corner kick from sophomore Dorothy Zhang in the final two minutes.

2.1.2022 – Menlo girls’ soccer had a two-goal lead by the 10th minute, Castilleja scored in the 23rd minute, then Menlo cruised to an 8-1 win at home led by senior Carolina Espinosa with four goals, and Hannah Gorospe with two goals and an assist.

Freshman Roya Rezaee posted three assists while junior Colby Wilson had a goal and an assist, and sophomore Lila Gold added two assists. Menlo improves to 5-1 in league, 10-1-4 overall, and plays at SHP on Thursday.
