Boys’ basketball tops Half Moon Bay to cap 4-0 week

2.11.2022 – Wrapping up a four-game week, the Knights boys’ basketball team defeated host Half Moon Bay on Saturday to finish 4-0 before it closes the regular season Tuesday. 

The Knights maintained a slight lead over a tough Cougars team before winning 54-45.

Junior Lucas Vogel scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Daniel Solomon, a senior, had 10 points, four assists while sophomore Sam Reznik scored nine and made two blocks. 

Menlo (9-4), holds third place, and plays second-place The King’s Academy (10-2) on Tuesday. 

Menlo 63, Crystal Springs 41

The Knights used a balanced attack to stifle the Gryphons in a WBAL match.

Daniel Solomon scored 15 and had three steals. Will Murphy and Lucas Vogel grabbed five rebounds each. 

Menlo 85, Pinewood 54

The Knights sailed to a victory over the Panthers in WBAL play at home.

Lucas Vogel tallied 25 points on 9-0f-14 shooting, and had four steals.  Senior Daniel Solomon finished with 17 points, three steals while sophomore Sam Reznik  added 15 points and five rebounds. Brooks Mead dished out five assists.

Menlo 68, Harker 38

2.8.2021 – The Menlo boys’ basketball team cruised to a 68-38 win over visiting Harker in WBAL play at home Tuesday to kick off a four-game week.
Knights junior Lucas Vogel scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, including 3 of 4 from three-point range, Senior Daniel Solomon shot 5 of 7 from the field, and finished with 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and five steals. Brooks Mead tallied 10 points and had four steals and a block.
Menlo (7-4) next plays at Pinewood (13-7) on Wednesday.
