Girls’ basketball ends league play 7-3

Menlo freshman Karen Xin led the Knights past Priory on Tuesday

The Menlo girls’ basketball team defeated The King’s Academy 58-38 on the road Friday to finish the regular season with second in WBAL play with a 7-3 mark.

The Knights (13-7) got 15 points from Angelica Chou and 14 from fellow freshman Karen Xin. Senior Jazlin Chen added eight, and Menlo got contributions up and down the lineup as eight Knights scored. 

Menlo awaits its postseason matchup after Wednesday’s seeding meeting.

Menlo 55, Priory 52

2.8.2022 – The Menlo girls’ basketball team prevailed over host Woodside Priory 55-52 in a tug of war of a WBAL matchup Tuesday.
Knights senior Shannon Li drained a three-pointer in the last minute to take the lead, then freshman Karen Xin delivered a driving layup in the last 25 seconds, and made a pair of free throws to seal the win.
Xin paced the Knights with 16 points. Menlo improves to 7-3 in league,. holding on to second place to undefeated Pinewood and over third-place Priory (3-4)
