Creative Arts Week: Art is in the Air

Art was in the air and all around as both the Middle and Upper School Creative Arts programs showcased their talents during Creative Arts Week, February 14-18.

Visual artists displayed their paintings, photography, drawings, and mixed-media creations in an exhibit in the Athletic Center throughout the week, while spontaneous creators added to the colorful, sprawling chalk mural on the pavement outside.

Every day at lunch featured new live performances, including a sneak peek of the all-school dance concert, chamber ensemble, jazz band, and MS steel pan band. Distinctive performances this year included the faculty ukulele band, stage combat demonstrations, a BIPOC arts showcase including a Samoan siva, and an original song composed by Peter Brown. Middle School students even tried their hand at learning a new TikTok dance, with the help and coaching of Upper School dancers.
