Boys’ lacrosse tops Tamalpais in OT, Serra

The Menlo boys’ lacrosse team scored about 2 minutes into overtime to top Tamalpais 11-10 on Saturday.
Menlo senior Carter Jung delivered the winner and finished with four goals and two assists.
The Knights led 10-7 before Tamalpais staged a rally tying the game with 35 seconds left in regulation.
Bax Barlow tallied 14 saves. Keane Murphy posted a hatr trick and Bradford Tudor added a pair of goals and an assist. Ben Banatao had two goals while Sergio Beltran, Nicky Scacco and Sam Scola each added an assist.

 

Menlo 14, Serra 9

3.9.2022 – The Menlo boys’ lacrosse team bounced back from a loss the previous day with a league-opening 14-9 victory over visiting Serra on Wednesday.
The Knights (1-2, 1-0 West Catholic Athletic League) trailed 3-2 entering the second quarter before coming through with an 8-4 halftime advantage.
Menlo senior Ben Banatao converted four goals on five shots while Sam Scola, also a senior, charted a hat trick and four assists.
Senior Carter Jung had two goals and three assists, and junior Keane Murphy added two goals. Junior Bax Barlow made 11 saves. Gus McGargahan and sophomore Brady Jung combined to win 15 of 26 face-offs. Sophomore Bradford Tudor posted a goal and assist while senior Sergio Beltran and sophomore Brady Jung each added goals.

 

De La Salle 18, Menlo 4

3.7.2022 – The boys’ lacrosse team dropped an 18-4 decision to East Bay powerhouse De La Salle in a match Tuesday at home.

After scoring twice on goals by Ben Banatao and Sergio Beltran, the Knights trailed 5-2 after the first quarter, DLS pulled away to lead 10-2 by the half,

Menlo senior Carter Jung recorded two goals while Bradford Tudor, a sophomore, had an assist. Banatao finished with a goal and an assist while Bax Barlow made nine saves.

Menlo-Atherton 8, Menlo 7

3.5.2022 – In its opener, the Menlo Knights boys’ lacrosse team staged a late rally but fell to host Menlo-Atherton 8-7 on Saturday.
Knights senior Sam Scola posted a pair of goals and an assist.
Ben Banatao, Keane Murphy, Bradford Tudor each contributed a goal and an assist while senior Carter Jung picked up six groundballs.
