Baseball defeats Sacred Heart Prep

Jake Bianchi belted a two-run double, then came home on Jake Sonsini's base hit as Menlo beat SHP

The Menlo baseball team rallied to take a 8-6 victory over Sacred Heart Prep at home Thursday to split the season series.
The Knights (5-4-1 overall, 1-1) fell behind 5-2 through the fourth inning.
Menlo tied the score after senior Chase Hurwitz singled, then scored on junior Jake Bianchi’s hit. Carson Cleage, also a junior, scored when sophomore Jacob Lee drew a walk with the bases loaded. Bianchi scored on fielder’s choice to knot the game at five.
Sophomore Garrett Tran picks up the win as the Knights move to 5-4-1. Jake Bianchi finished with two hits, three RBI and Hurwitz pair of hits for Menlo. The Knights next play host to Half Moon Bay on Tuesday.

3.22.2022 – In the opener of a PAL rivalry game, the Menlo School baseball dropped a 6-5 heartbreaker after Sacred Heart Prep scored on a walk-off in the eighth inning Tuesday.
The Knights move to 4-4-1, and play host to SHP on Thursday.
In the seventh, senior Jack Giesler and sophomore Jacob Lee each reached on errors. Carson Cleage hit an RBI double and Garrett Tran hit into a fielder’s choice to score the tying run.
The Gators’ Nolan Wilbur drove in Zach Freire with the bases loaded in the eighth.
