WCAL playoffs: Boys’ lacrosse rolls past St. Francis

Carter Jung posted six goals in Menlo's 17-7 win over St. Francis

5.3.2022 – The Menlo boys’ lacrosse team dominated from start to finish in a 17-7 victory in the first round of the WCAL playoffs over visiting St. Francis on Tuesday.

Senior Carter Jung poured in six goals and junior Aidan Zhou posted a hat trick. Senior Ben Banatao tallied four assists and scored one of his own while Ari Krane and Bradford Tudor each scored twice for the Knights who took an 11-1 halftime advantage.
Menlo goalie Bax Barlow made 11 saves and Sergio Beltran had six ground balls and two takeaways. Brady Jung, Max Kinder and Lucas Vogel each added four groundballs.
We had an outstanding first half with sharp ball movement and shooting on offense,” Menlo Coach Blake Kim said. “Our individual and team fundamentals were rock solid. On top of that, we battled well for loose balls all over the field, particularly at the faceoff X.”

Sam Scola contributed three assists while Ari Krane and Sam Randal each scored.
The fourth-seeded Knights face top seed St. Ignatius at 3:30p in Thursday’s semifinals.
