Baseball finishes regular season with 3 wins

Week of 5.9-5.14.2022

The Menlo baseball team defeated host Sequoia 14-7 in a PAL regular-season finale Saturday.

Chase Hurwitz led a 14-hit rally with a triple and four RBI. Carson Cleage delivered four hits including a double. Garrett Tran added two hits, two RBI & gets the victory in relief.

Jake Bianchi contributed two hits, double, and two RBI against the Ravens of the Bay Division.

The Knights, which finished third in the PAL-Ocean Division will learn its CCS playoff fate Wednesday after the seeding meeting

Menlo 6, El Camino 0
The Menlo baseball team swept El Camino 6-0 in a regular-season home finale Thursday to finish third in the PAL-Ocean standings.
The Knights (13-10-1 overall and 9-5 in league) stand in third with Half Moon Bay clinching the title tonight against second-place Sacred Heart Prep.
Menlo sophomore Ryan Schnell improved to 6-3. He allowed one unearned run, struck out one and walked none in a complete-game shutout. He helps his cause with an RBI single.
Junior Jake Bianchi went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI. Senior Chase Hurwitz went 2 for 3, with a double and an RBI while junior Colin Dhaliwal added a double. Senior Max Peña contributed two hits.Menlo plays at Sequoia on Saturday to complete the regular season, and awaits its postseason plans until Wednesday’s CCS seeding meeting

Menlo 5, El Camino 1

The Menlo baseball team defeated host El Camino 5-1, scattering 12 hits in a PAL-Ocean game Tuesday.
The Knights (8-5) hold third place in the division behind Half Moon Bay and Sacred Heart Prep (both 10-3) with one league game remaining.
Carson Cleage went 4 for 4 while Matt Haven had a pair of doubles. Jake Bianchi had two hits, driving in two runs. Colin Dhaliwal allowed four hits and five walks while striking out five in 4 1/3 innings, Jake Sonsini came on in relief.
