Volleyball nets silver at Chandler Invitational
9.24.22 – The Menlo School volleyball team won three matches to return to the championship of the 11th annual Chris Chandler Invitational and fell to Sacred Heart Prep 25-20, 25-14 on Saturday.
The Knights (10-11) defeated Mills 25-13, 22-25, 15-3 and Moreau Catholic 25-18, 25-13 in pool play. Then, Menlo beat University-San Francisco 25-20, 25-23 to advance to the championship.
For the tournament, senior Brooke Dombkowski posted team-highs with 21 kills and 22 digs. Sophomore Lily Kautai tallied 14 kills, 60 assists, 11 digs and five aces. Bella Chen, a junior, finished with 14 kills and a team-best 11 blocks while senior Dorinda Xiao had 30 assists and five aces. Juniors Logan Wilson added 12 kills and eight blocks. Knights junior Liv Leschly had 16 digs and senior Avery Herrod notched a team-high six aces.
