Girls’ tennis (6-0) posts pair of WBAL shutouts

Knights host Golden State Classic starting Friday
Alexa Hua and Sophia Lenart won at No. 3 doubles

The Menlo girls’ tennis team improved to 5-0 in West Bay Athletic League play with a sweep of Crystal Springs on the road Thursday.
The Knights (12-3) swept doubles in straight sets. Seniors Natalie Westermann and Charlotte Yao won at No. 1., seniors Charlotte Makoni and Hannah Satuito at No. 2 and senior Ellie Hardegree and junior Alexa Hua at No.3.
Sophomore Andra Braicu didn’t drop a game at No. 1 singles;. Freshman Elise Chen won in straight sets at No. 2 singles. Senior Sofia Labatt fended off her opponent in a tiebreaker and sophomore Izzy Klugman won at No. 4

Crawford-Lo 6-2, 6-2; Charlotte Makoni-Hannah Satuito d. Shepherd-Kimura 6-1, 6-3; Ellie Hardegree-Alexa Hua d. Forrester-Glore 6-0, 6-4.

10.11.22 – The Menlo girls’ tennis team notched its fifth WBAL win in a row with a 7-0 victory over Castilleja at home Tuesday,
The Knights (11-3 overall, 5-0 league) next play at Crystal Springs before hosting the Golden State Classic on Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore Andra Braicu, freshman Elise Chen, senior Charlotte Yao, and sophomore Kate Hsia won in straight sets in singles.
In doubles, seniors Natalie Westermann and Sofia Labatt at No. 1, sophomore Izzy Klugman and senior Charlotte Makoni at No. 2, and the team of junior Alexa Hua and sophomore Sophie Lenart recorded wins.
