Football’s Valpo Bowl changes hands
11.4.2022 – In a rivalry and divisional match-up, Menlo football team dropped a 34-7 decision to host Sacred Heart Prep in Valpo Bowl XX on Friday.
The Knights (9-1, 5-0), who hosted and won last year’s Valpo Bowl, handed off the trophy to the Gators (5-5, 2-3). SHP peeled off three touchdowns in their first three possessions and took a 21-0 lead into the second quarter and never looked back.
Menlo finished fourth in the top-tier PAL-Bay Division, earning the last automatic qualifying bid in CCS, and will learn its postseason fate after Sunday’s seeding meeting.
