Boys’ basketball 2-1 at Los Gatos Wildcat Shootout

Knights defeat Branham, Santa Teresa, lose a close one to Christopher
Lucas Vogel scored 21 in a win over Branham at the Los Gatos Wildcat Shootout

The Menlo boys’ basketball team won the consolation championship of the Los Gatos Wildcat Shootout on Friday. 

The Knights (3-3) defeated Branham and Santa Teresa and fell in a two-point loss to Christopher on Thursday. 

In the last round of the tournament, Menlo led 33-20 at the half. Senior Lucas Vogel poured in 29 points to lead eight scorers. Vogel wrapped up the tournament with 57 points

12.8.2022 – In a tightly contested duel, the Knights dropped a two-point decision to Christopher on Thursday. 

The Knights (2-3) got 18 points from senior Will Eggemeier.  

Menlo 47, Branham 40

12.7.2022 – The Menlo boys’ basketball team opened the Los Gatos Tournament with a 47-40 win over Branham on Wednesday.
The Knights (2-2) handed Branham its first loss vs. 5 wins in this early-season matchup. Menlo will play Christopher at 6:30 on Thursday.
Senior Lucas Vogel again led the Knights with 21 points and four steals. Brooks Mead, also a senior added 10 points, five rebounds and a pair of steals, and junior Adam Karr pulled down 10 rebounds and had five steals, Freshman Ethan Zhao contributed seven points.
The Knights held a 20-16 halftime advantage. Next, Menlo will play Christopher at 6:30 pm Thursday.
