The Menlo girls’ basketball team defeated Lick 54-39 to take the consolation championship of the Terra Nova Tournament on Saturday.
The Knights (5-1) fell to Archie Williams 46-32 then bounced back with a 77-39 win over AIMS College Prep-Oakland. Sophomore Karen Xin was named to the all-tournament team.
In the consolation final, the Knights took a slight 24-23 lead over Lick-Wilmerding at halftime before Menlo used a 19-8 run in the third quarter to pull away. Menlo junior Summer Young scored eight of her 12 points in the third, and Karen Xin added a pair of three-pointers in that quarter to finish with 14. Sophomore Ruiqi added 12 points as well.
