Girls’ soccer rolls past Priory, Harker

Angelica Chou finishes with five goals for the week

1.12.2023 – The Menlo girls’ soccer team  visiting Harker in the second half en route to a 4-1 West Bay Athletic League victory Thursday.

The Knights (2-0 league, 8-1-1 overall) jumped out to a 2-0 advantage when sophomore Angelica Chou scored her first of three goals in the ninth minute. Junior Dorothy Zhang was fouled in the box then scored on the PK. Harker cut the lead in half with a goal at the end of the second period.
Chou then picked up another goal that started from a Tabitha Corcoran free kick and went to Audrey Hochstetler to Chou with eight minutes left in the game and then just over five minutes later, made it a hat trick off a feed from Krista Arreola.
Menlo’s game Saturday against Stevenson in Monterey has been postponed due to extreme weather conditions. The Knights will play at Sacred Heart Prep on Tuesday,

The Knights (7-1-1) struck in the 10th minute when sophomore Angelica Chou scored on an assist from senior Finley Riley. Chou added her second goal with two minutes to go in the half taking a pass from sophomore Audrey Hochstetler.
Roya Rezaee, a sophomore striker, picked up scoring in second half with an assist from freshman Julia Axelrod, then senior Hannah Gorospe scored on a lob.
Senior Sam Sellers picked up the clean sheet with freshman Bianca Putanec coming on in the final minutes. Senior Helen Barkley had a strong, composed game on defense and in midfield.
